Energy Efficiency & Heating System Optimization — OKTA

 

BAR E.C.E. provided multidisciplinary engineering and energy consulting services for the optimization of energy consumption in selected buildings of OKTA AD Skopje, covering energy assessment, development of energy efficiency measures, Detailed Design and works supervision.

 

The assignment covered three facilities within the OKTA complex:

 

• Administrative Technical Building (T-079)
• Firefighting Unit Building (T-070)
• LPG Transfer Point – Operators’ Work Premises (T-033)

 

For each facility, the project focused on evaluating the existing energy performance and identifying technically and economically viable measures to reduce energy consumption, improve building performance and modernize the heating and cooling systems.

 

Improving Building Energy Performance

 

BAR E.C.E. carried out comprehensive Energy Audits for the three buildings, including analysis of existing energy consumption, identification of energy efficiency measures and assessment of the potential energy savings.

 

The proposed measures were evaluated from both technical and economic perspectives, including the required investments, cost-benefit analysis and payback periods. Based on the results, BAR E.C.E. prepared technical specifications and detailed Bills of Quantities for implementation of the recommended measures, together with the documentation required for certification of the buildings’ energy performance.

 

From Energy Audit to Detailed Design & Implementation

 

A key component of the assignment involved the assessment of alternatives for replacing and optimizing the existing heating systems with modern, energy-efficient heating and cooling solutions.

 

Different options were evaluated, including optimization of existing systems and the introduction of heat-pump-based solutions. The alternatives were assessed against the expected energy demand of the buildings following implementation of the proposed energy efficiency measures.

 

Based on the selected technical solution, BAR E.C.E. prepared the Detailed Design for the new energy-efficient heating and cooling system.

 

For the Administrative Technical Building (T-079), BAR E.C.E.’s involvement continued into the implementation stage, providing works supervision for the implementation of the proposed energy efficiency measures. This extended the assignment from initial energy assessment and design through to implementation of the selected improvements.

 

Through the project, BAR E.C.E. combined its expertise in energy auditing, energy efficiency, building engineering, HVAC design and works supervision, providing OKTA with integrated technical support from assessment and design through implementation
