BAR E.C.E. together with the leading partner INFRASTRUKTUR & UMWELT Professor Böhm und Partner has been providing services for Solid Waste Management in Polog Region, Phase I, project financed by SECO. The project started 09/2018 and it is planned to finish by the end of 12/2022.
The project supports implementation of the new waste regulation in Polog municipalities and improvement of the organization of the regional and local waste disposal systems. It is designed to provide for advanced waste management solutions, based on the concepts and standards outlined in the EU standards and in national waste management legislation and policy, in line with EU accession roadmap.
The overall Project objective is to contribute to improved quality, effectiveness and sustainability of waste management services in the Polog Region and reduced negative environmental and health impacts. It will address immediate short-term remediation needs and will lay the basis for future regional infrastructure investments
Our services
- Regional Waste Management Plan (RWMP);
- Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) for RWMP;
- Feasibility Study (FS) and Cost Benefit Analysis (CBA) considering the RWMP
- Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for Rusino Landfill and potential transfer station(s) (to be implemented in Phase II) including environmental monitoring;
- Detailed designs for rehabilitation/ construction of selected waste treatment and disposal facilities in the Polog Region;
- Tender dossiers for the works and any supplies contracts for the rehabilitation/ construction of selected waste treatment and disposal facilities;
- Establishment of inter-municipal waste management utility;
- Preparation and implementation of quick-win measures (e.g. urgent interventions at Rusino Landfill or awareness raising campaigns);
- Preparation of a concept on institutional strengthening and capacity building measures for Phase II;
- Preparation of a concept for public awareness measures for Phase II.
